In its opinion, it stated that the analysis in the CCJ must be limited “to the verification of the formal regularity of the process, without authorization to revise the content of the judgment.”
If the CCJ rejects Glauber’s appeal, the process will continue to analyze the plenary, where it should receive at least 257 votes for the cassation to be approved.
Agreement
In an agreement articulated by the PSOL bench, the mayor, Deputy Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), pledged to give 60 days to guide the action against Glauber in the plenary after the decision of the CCJ.
The decision was announced by Hugo after Glauber spent more than a week on hunger strike in protest against the decision of the Ethics Council on his cassation.
If the process advances and is approved in the plenary, Glauber would lose his mandate and could be ineligible for eight years. PSOL and members of the governing bench seek an alternative penalty to avoid loss of mandate.
