The (Economic Affairs Committee) should vote on this Thursday (29.ab.2025), which proposes benefits to default citizens – which are up to date with their debts – provided they have paid more than 75% of the debt. These people may receive discounts, bonuses or other financial benefits.
The text changes articles 4 and 7 of the, allowing financial operators (such as public banks) to access credit history without the need for extra authorization for public programs and that this data can be used not only for credit risk analysis, but also to subsidize discounts and benefits.
The CMN (National Monetary Council) will be responsible for creating the rules for the project to be applicable. The project is from the leader of the MDB (Brazilian Democratic Movement) at Casa Alta, (AM), and has a favorable report by the Senator (União-TO).
In justification, Braga stated that those who are in default often receive many opportunities for renegotiation. However, those who pay up to date do not receive any incentive.
If approved, the project goes to the ending decision.
