Vaccination can be maintained by the European region without the occurrence of polio, eliminating measles, rubella, hepatitis B or cervical cancer. At the same time, several diseases can be prevented through preventive vaccination. The Regional Office of Public Health (RÚVZ) Bratislava pointed out this on the occasion of the European Immunization Week (EIW).

“Early vaccination is an effective means to prevent serious infectious diseases or complications, to live life well and without restrictions,” RÚVZ noted. He explained that during the coming days he would bring information about selected diseases against which it is vaccinated in Slovakia. The activities will be carried out under the auspices of the main hygienist of the Slovak Republic Tatiana Červeňová.

RÚVZ explained that the aim of the 20th year of the European Immunization Week is to raise awareness of the general public about the importance of vaccination and its benefits in preventing diseases and protecting life at any age. “This year’s campaign is intended to emphasize the urgent need to achieve a high vaccination in every community to prevent vaccination from preventing epidemics of infectious diseases,” the office said.

How hygienists specified, the aim of the EIW campaign in the Slovak Republic is to support vaccination with increased awareness, educational activities and media coverage of the issue. They would also like to raise awareness of the general public about the importance and effects of vaccines and positively influence the vaccination of children and adults in Slovakia.
