SP: College expels 12 students by photo with flag alluding to rape

The Santa Marcelina College of São Paulo chose to expel the 12 medical students who made a photo holding a “flag” with a message alluding to the crime of rape.

“Enter p ****, flowers”, a phrase taken from a anthem of the medical athletic, banned in 2017. The image, recorded on March 15, was made during a university sporting event.

According to the university’s Instagram statement, “11 other students received regimental sanctions that constitute suspensions and other disciplinary measures.” The responsible athletic was banned indefinitely.

Also according to the publication, the decision was taken in the first instance on Monday (28), after “the inquiries established on March 21, 2025 as a result of the facts that occurred on March 15, with members of the Academic Athletic Association and related to sports tournament.”

“Santa Marcelina College announces that the inquiries opened on March 21, 2025 as a result of the facts that occurred on March 15, with members of the Academic Athletic Association and related to the sports tournament, were appreciated in the first instance on Monday (28), and 12 (twelve) students were dismissed from the institution, and 11 (eleven) students received regimental sanctions that configured suspension sanctions and other disciplinary measures.

During a university game on March 15, More than 20 medical students from Santa Marcelina Collegein Sao Paulo, were photographed holding a flag with the inscription “Enter p ****, flows blood”.

The phrase, which refers to the crime of rape, was removed from an ancient “anthem” from the medical athletic, banned in 2017.

The collective Francisca-group formed by students and alumni of college-released a note via Instagram reporting the incident. In the statement, the group stated that the display of the poster violates sexual dignity and threatens the well-being of women who circulate in the corridors of the institution.

“We will not tolerate any act or say that try to establish fear and oppression,” said members. The group also demanded a positioning of the athletic, asking the organization to adopt measures that ensure the mental and physical health of all women present in the academic environment.

In response, Santa Marcelina College used social networks to position itself. The institution expressed repudiation of the episode and stressed that, at the time of enrollment, students assume a commitment to respect for ethical principles, academic dignity and current legislation.

It was also announced the opening of an internal investigation procedure to investigate the facts. The college stated that the students involved could be penalized with warnings, suspension or even dismissal, according to the severity of the infraction and the institutional precepts.

The Civil Police, through the 8th Women’s Defense Police Station (DDM), launched an inquiry to investigate the circumstances of the case.
