Ministry of the Environment (MoE) of the Slovak Republic stopped the process of compulsory impact assessment on the environment of operation for the production of battery cells in Šurany. Pavol Krokoš, Executive Director of GOTION INOBAT BATTERIES, claims that the problem is to the extent of documentation submitted to the EIA environmental impact assessment. Envirorezort considers it insufficient, the investor claims that it has been processed in accordance with the legislation in force since the beginning of this year.

The investor delivered information to the Ministry of the Environment on 22 April. According to the Ministry, there are fundamental shortcomings in the submitted documents. The investor argues that, on the basis of an amendment to the Act on the Environmental Impact Assessment AO amendments and supplements to certain acts, the petitioner is obliged to submit information on the proposed activity or amendment without the need to process professional studies. These will subsequently be processed in accordance with the requirements of the scope of the evaluation of the designated MoE of the Slovak Republic and will form annexes to the evaluation report.

According to the investor, the flashlight is in Šurany The first major project assessed under the amendment to the Act And it is necessary to discuss the extent of the required supplements so that the information submitted is sufficient. The investor wants to deliver additional documents to the environmental impact assessment process within a few months.
