A dissatisfied patient in Krakow’s knife fatally injured the doctor, the attacker was detained by the security guard.
A dissatisfied patient at the University Hospital in Krakow on Tuesday stabbed a doctor who, despite the immediate intervention of his colleagues, succumbed to injuries. This was announced by the Polish Minister of Health Izabela Leszczynová, informs Warsaw newsletter TASR referring to PAP.
The incident happened at about 10:30 am when a 35-year-old man invaded the orthopedic clinic, where the doctor investigated the patient and attacked him with a knife. The attacker was detained by the security and handed it over to the police. According to the director of the hospital Marcin Jedrychowski, the attacker was a patient who was dissatisfied with the course of his treatment, although according to the patient’s protector, everything was fine in his case.
A real motive of the crime
The director of the hospital said that the attacked doctor, approximately 40-year-old orthopedic surgeon, worked in the hospital for many years and considered him an exceptional expert and man.
Minister Leszczyn condemned aggression against healthcare professionals such as barbarity, which deserves the highest punishment. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his condolences to the family and close to the deceased doctor on the X social network and described the case as shocking.
