Culture, in particular cultural heritage, is not the subject of political debate. We can watch the rallies, television or ruined debates, that this theme does not entail any kind of attention. And why? Are the electoral programs of convergent cultural policies -oriented parties?
No. The sector is that does not have the weight necessary to generate a debate on the subject.
It is in this sense that I would like to enumerate Some measures of the parties With a parliamentary seat – with a criterion, obviously, my perception of the sector – inviting all interested parties to consult the electoral programs of each party and analyze in detail the proposals that each one presents for the culture.
Democratic covenant
AD – PSD/CDS coalition presents a complete culture program, proposing several concrete measures for the sector.
As regards the cultural heritage, it presents seven measures for its protection, where I highlight: the reinforcement of the measures of Heritage safeguardthe elaboration of a rehabilitation for buildings with greater cultural value, the reinforcement of the national heritage protection mechanisms and the fight against crime and vandalism against historical monuments.

Socialist party
The PS presents a Complete Electoral Program For culture, proposing concrete measures, specifically with regard to cultural heritage. Under the motto “a democratic and decentralized culture”the PS proposes the creation of Intermediate Services for Management of cultural policies.
It also proposes to launch a public investment program of large wingspan, for the RECOVERY OF CULTURAL HERITAGEfor the post-PRR period.

The party arrives dedicates eight pages of your program electoral to culture, presenting 26 measures for the sector.
In relation to cultural heritage, the party proposes, among others, the creation of three new museums, the defense of the historical heritage Portuguese and the update of CULTURAL MECONATE LAW. It also lists several projects that were presented by the party and rejected in the previous legislature.
Liberal initiative
IL’s electoral program presents a series of generic measures defending the decentralization of competences and increased autonomy financial institutions.

The PCP presents a full documentstating various ideas for culture, in particular with regard to the component of cultural heritage.
Under the motto “Right of all to culture – a public culture service” among others, the implementation of a National Emergency Program of the Cultural heritage, with a view to its recoverysafeguard and conservation.
It also refers to the need to lock “ patrimonials of the state ”, namely the classified heritage. It also proposes an ambitious goal of enshrining 1% of the state budget for culture, with the objective, among others, to promote the preservation of cultural heritage.
Book
Free presents a extensive and complete chapter dedicated to culture. Under the motto “Valuing culture”, proposes dozens of measures, more or less concretesome of which with direct impact on the management and conservation of cultural heritage.
A valorization of professions of museology and conservation and restoration, the restructuring of the sector, the revision of the Revive Program and the elaboration of a Tile Heritage Protection Plan, are some of the measures presented. It also proposes the ambitious goal of consecrating 1% of national GDP to culture.

According to its spokesman, the PAN electoral program will be released on May 3, and it is not possible to analyze any type of proposal dedicated to cultural heritage.
