Minister of Agriculture and Livestock will ask the farm urgent and creates working group to discuss the issue

The meeting resulted in two fronts: the sending of an urgent request to the Ministry of Finance for the extension of debt and the creation of a working group to discuss the securitization in the field.

It is expected that the rules for extension will come out later this week. The measure should cover cost and investment contracts, but it will not be automatic: it will depend on the individual assessment of each financial operation.
There is also the forecast of postponement of investment installments due in 2025. These may be pushed for up to 1 year after the end of the original contract, provided that the bank respects the 8% limit of the rural credit portfolio. For Banrisul –Banco of the State of RS–, the government studies expanding this ceiling to up to 17%, by special authorization outside the MCR (Rural Credit Manual).
Another point discussed was the structuring of a working group to deepen the debate on debt securitization. The board will bring together representatives of the map, the House and Senate agriculture committees and members of the Rio Grande do Sul bench. The purpose of the WG is to submit proposals within 180 days. Among the options under analysis are the bill already presented by Heinze and the possible creation of a fund with resources from different spheres of the public power.
Also present at the meeting were the federal deputies (PL-RS), (PP-RS), (PL-RS), (MDB-RS), (PSB-RS), (PL-RS) e (PT-RS), as well as map technicians and state secretaries.
