The largest game fair in the world in its Latin American version arrives in the state capital even greater this year, expecting to exceed records of public, business and economic impact. THE Gamescom Latam 2025 The Anhembi district landed between May 1st to 4th, with a structure larger than last year, reaching 55,000 m² and the expectation is to gather 120,000 people, an increase of 20% over the 2024 edition. The event will have 13 themed spaces aimed at gamer, industry, developers, influencers and pop culture enthusiasts. Physical and public growth also promises direct impact on the São Paulo economy.
According to the Tourism and Events Observatory (OTE), the 2024 edition generated R $ 22 million in economic impact for the city, a number that should be exceeded this year due to the increase in the flow of tourists and participants. In addition to the impact on tourism, the event moves behind the scenes of the electronic game industry. In 2024, about 200 million were generated in business opportunities. The organization’s forecast is to keep this level by 2025, even with the appreciation of the dollar. The event mobilizes professionals and job creation: About 5,000 people are directly or indirectly involved in the production, assembly and operation of the fair.
For Gustavo Pires, president of SPTuris, Gamescom’s potential reinforces the city’s strategic role in the event industry:
“São Paulo is today the largest central event point in Latin America. Getting Gamescom Latam further strengthens our position as a business and innovation engine. Events like this generate direct impact on the economy, stimulate tourism and open doors for opportunities that go far beyond four days of fair. It’s a strategic investment for the city.”
