The system of justifying missed lessons of primary and secondary school pupils and children who fulfill compulsory pre -primary education in kindergartens should be changed. This stems from the material from the workshop of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, which was approved by the government on Wednesday. The proposal concerns the justification of a child or a pupil due to the disease.

Two modes are to be applied in the new justification system. In both of them, the school can justify a pupil in case of illness without a medical confirmation of five consecutive calendar daysor seven days in the case of kindergarten. However, in a stricter regime, the summary number of days in six months is lower.

Within a looser regime, it is true that The school can justify ten days for a calendar month and at the same time no more than 15 days in the last two months. In a more stricter regime, schoolchildren can miss a maximum of 15 days for the school half of the school because of the disease. In the case of a kindergarten, it is 14 days per month, respectively 21 days in two months in a loose mode and a maximum of 21 days in the school half -year in a stricter version.

The aim of introducing a general stricter adjustment for all schools is the emphasis on proper fulfillment of compulsory pre -primary education and compulsory education. For schools that do not exceed the specified reference value of the number of missed hours during the monitored period of the school year, The director may determine that the following school year will be applied “milder modification”.

This means that the school can justify a higher number of lessons or lessons when it comes to a kindergarten without confirming the doctor. This reference value will be determined and published by the Ministry of Education. In practice, the lower number of schools should remain in stricter modewhere problems with school attendance and compulsory pre -primary education are the most prominent.

However, the possibility of schools that do not exceed the reference value is left to apply a stricter regimen of justification in order to have Possibility to influence compulsory pre -primary education and school attendance according to conditions at specific schools.

The adjustment also includes the possibility for schools to be moved during the school year by improving their attendance to a milder regime, as well as the mechanism of additional control of schools that began to meet the conditions for shifting from a stricter regime to a milder. As part of this additional inspection, at the school, in the six -year of the school year in which she began to meet the conditions to move into a milder regimefollows the attendance for every two consecutive months.

The aim of this amendment is to achieve a reduction in the absence of children or pupils in particular in schools where Increased absence appears so that it does not increase the administrative burden of pediatricians, but at the same time there is no increase in the absence of inadequate use of the possibility of justification of absence in teaching without a medical certificate. Together with the bill was submitted to the Government of the Slovak Republic a proposal for shortened legislative proceedings.
