The Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, said on Wednesday (30) that the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) will be strengthened from the crisis generated by the investigation of the Federal Police about.

Marinho stated that the government is committed to the exemplary punishment of those involved. “The government goes to the last consequences to punish who should be punished. He also assured that the Federal Police have “total freedom” to conduct investigations and hold everyone involved in the scheme.

The minister cited colleague Carlos Lupi, holder of the Social Security portfolio, who on Tuesday (29) provided clarification to the Social Security Commission of the House of Representatives.

For Marine, it is essential to differentiate the legitimate entities from those who acted in bad faith. “As Minister Lupi has said, it is time to separate the chaff from the wheat. We have to identify the serious entities that are truly retired and pensioners, and isolate those with a vocation for trickery, which take advantage of people’s innocence,” he said.

Marine’s statement occurs in a moment of strong political and institutional pressure on the government, which tries to contain the effects of the crisis.
