Mark Carnery liberals fail the absolute majority in Canada Legislatures

With 169 projected places, the liberals fell short of the 172 needed for the majority in the 343 -seat chamber. The counting of the votes still continues in some electoral circles. Carney may form government with the support of smaller parties, such as the Quebek Block or the new Democrats.

The Liberal Party led by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carnery failed the goal of an absolute majority in Parliament, designed public television Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

According to the projection, the liberals will have 169 seats in Parliament, just short of the 172 necessary for an absolute majority in the 343 -seat Legislative Chamber.

The determination of the results of the Canadian legislatures is not yet definitive, continuing to count in the last two electoral circles.

The Electoral Commission Elections Canada said that the count of special newsletters, voters who are outside their districts during the election, which could also affect the result in about a dozen districts.

According to small parties on the table

The liberals, who defeated the conservatives of Pierre Poilievre, may form a majority with the support of one of the smallest parties represented in the Baixa Chamber.

Among the potential partners are the Quebeque Block – which may be in third place and which is a separatist party of the Francophone Quebeque seeking the independence of Canada; or the new democrats, a progressive party.

Poilievre was leading the polls until US President Donald Trump aimed at Canada with a trade war and threats from attaching him as 51st state.

The conservative not only lost his first-minister candidacy on Monday, but he lost his place in Parliament he took for 20 years.

Poilievre, a career politician, campaigned with Trump’s argument and rhetoric similar, adopting the slogan “Canada First”.

Trump’s truculence has enraged Canadians, leading many to cancel their holidays in the United States, refuse to buy American products and allowing a record of 7.3 million Canadians who voted before election day.

Carry, who has already attended the supporters of the Liberal Party in Otava, to celebrate the victory – promised to govern “with all parties, all territories and civil society,” adding that he intends to negotiate a new bilateral relationship with US President Donald Trump.

“We surpassed the shock of American betrayal, but we should never forget the lessons,” said Carry.

“These are not empty threats. President Trump is trying to destroy us so that the United States can dominate us. This will never … never happen. But we also need to recognize the reality that our world has changed fundamentally,” said Carney.

In addition to the trade war with the United States and the tense relationship with Trump, Canada is dealing with a cost of living crisis.

During the campaign, Carney promised that every dollar raised by the government with compensatory tariffs about US products will be attributed to Canadian workers who are negatively affected by the trade war.
