Materials in the state of São Paulo fell 17.3% in the first quarter compared to 2024, with 38 cases in the period, against 46 last year. According to the Secretariat of Public Security, it is the second smallest mark in the history of the robberies followed by death.
There were 13 episodes in the quarter in the capital, 16 in the interior and 9 in Greater São Paulo. One that caught the eye was the murder of the cyclist in the south of São Paulo in February.
“The actions developed by the Civil and Military Police are based on the use of intelligence and operational planning, which allows the constant reorganization of the staff based on criminal indices,” says the Secretary of Public Security ,.
He also highlights the intensification of investigations prioritizing organized gang leaders.
“The result is the result of these actions that are into practice throughout the state, through integrated police work,” he says.
The Secretariat of Public Security claims to monitor the crimes against life through the SP Life Program, which supports strategies to combat this crime.
According to the folder, from January to March this year, 56,665 people were arrested or seized in the state of São Paulo, most (32.201) in the act.
