Federal Deputy Mauricio Neves, president of the PP in the state, declared himself state leader of the federation in a press release for his advisory on Tuesday morning (29), when the so-called “Progressive Union”

União Brasil has more parliamentary representation than the PP among the Paulistas. The state bench of the party has seven seats, against five from PP. In the case of the Legislative Assembly, there are nine seats for União and three for the PP.
In the federation, the two subtitles will have to act as a single party, with joint party status and program, for a minimum period of four years.
The control of União Brasil in São Paulo had already been the object of intense dispute when the acronym emerged in 2021 from the junction of the extinct PSL and DEM. The then state president of the PSL, Junior Bozzella, disputed the control of the acronym against Leite and was defeated.
Leite, who announced that he would leave public life at the end of last year, but would maintain his party activities, is considered one of the most influential politicians in the city of São Paulo. He has a state deputy son (Milton Leite Filho) and another federal (Alexandre Leite), both for União Brasil.
