PP-UB Federation brings together 75% of federal deputies and 66% of Acre senators

The Progressive Union Federation, which coalloes União Brasil and Progressives towards the 2026 elections, was made official on Tuesday (29), in Brasilia, with the presence of leaders of both parties, including Acre politicians.

The Federation in Acre is under the command of Governor Gladson Cameli, who even spoke at the event, celebrating the merger and thanking the opportunity to the presidents of the acronyms, Ciro Nogueira (PP) and Antonio Rueda (UB).

The alliance already includes 75% of Acre’s federal bench, with deputies Zezinho Barbare (PP), Socorro Neri (PP), José Adriano (PP), Colonel Ulysses (UB), Eduardo Velloso (UB) and Meire Serafim (UB). Only Roberto Duarte and Antônia Lúcia, both from Republicans, are out.

The situation is also repeated in the Federal Senate, as the alliance has two of the Senators representing Acre: Alan Rick (UB) and Márcio Bittar (UB), which is about to migrate to the Liberal Party (PL), as soon as the party window allows.

In Aleac, the federation accommodates 5 of the 24 deputies, which are: Manoel Moraes (Progressives), Nicolau Júnior (Progressives), Maria Antônia (Progressives), Gilberto Lira (Union) and Whendy Lima (Union).

Together, nationally, União Brasil and Progressives will have the largest bench of deputies in the House, the largest number of mayors and will receive the largest slices of public resources to fund election campaigns and payment of party expenses.

Party federations are an alliance model that unites two or more acronyms. Subtitles act as one for at least four years, although each one maintains its party structure. There must be alignment in Congress and elections.

If they break the Union before the deadline, the parties are subject to punishments, such as loss of electoral and partisan funds, and are prevented from forming a new federation or coalition.

Currently, three federations are registered in the TSE. All sealed in 2022: PT/PCdoB/PV, PSOL/Rede and PSDB/Citizenship (who have already announced the break, but should only officialize in 2026).

União Brasil is a fusion of two other acronyms: ACM Neto’s DEM and Luciano Bivar’s PSL, a party that housed former President Jair Bolsonaro when he was elected in 2018.
