HC Košice hockey players won a record tenth title in the highest Slovak competition on Tuesday (April 29). The “steelmakers” in the decisive seventh match of the final of the playoffs Tipos Extraliga won on home ice over HK Nitra 5: 4 after the extension and the whole series triumphed 4: 3 for matches.
The winning goal scored in 62 minutes in power play Danick Martel. The Košice people became independent at the head of the historic table of the winners in front of the Bratislava Slavs, who won nine titles. Košice striker Marek Bartanus won the seventh gold in his career, creating a new maximum.
Before the ceremony, when the Secretary General of SZĽH Miroslav Lažo handed over the medals to the winners and players could take over the cup, he showed up on the ice Minister of Tourism and Sport Rudolf Huliak (49). Applause would wait in vain. There were a whistle and a beard from the stands.
People also noticed that the minister came to this festive moment and inappropriately dressed. Instead of the suit that all the officials had, he came in jeans and a jacket with the label “Mr. Rudo”. A video from a sports event can be found at the beginning of the article.
“Why did the Minister have a suit like other people?” wrote under the video the TEO follower. “Even the clothes worthy of the minister for handing medals,” Michal added again.
But Huliak was not the first minister whose hockey fans were boiling. He experienced a similar situation as chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in 2015 at the World Championship in Ostrava. It happened after the match of Slovakia with Belarus, when he awarded the awards for the best players.
