The season for Polish strawberries begins in mid -May (Sometimes also at the end of the month or at the beginning of June – depending on the weather). The cooler it is, the later they should be expected.

It is worth knowing because Fruits signed as native in April or early May are usually imported from abroad – from Spain, Greece or Italy. At the beginning of the season, Polish fruits are more expensive and those ripen earlier.

How to recognize Polish strawberry?

  • it is smaller and there is no perfect shape
  • it is usually darker – red, but not necessarily in full
  • It has a sweet intense smell (watery are imported and sometimes they have a chemical aroma)
  • It has a fresh, green tail, not a dry and withered (sign of long transport)
