Matias Viña is the only name at the moment in the medical department of Flamengo, but in May, the tendency is for the situation to change the figure.
The left-back is already in the transitional phase and, according to the CNN Sports… The last week of May, and the first of June, are treated as a “base date” for the return of the Uruguayan.
Entering the final stretch
Viña was injured on August 11, 2024, in a draw with Palmeiras, in Maracanã, for the Brazilian Championship. The injury affected the meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee, that is, it was considered very serious. It’s been more than eight months away from the lawns.
Since then, the left-back has gone through a long period of readaptation and physiotherapy in the knee. At the moment, the specific works in the gym are still part of the routine, but they share time with the transition.
The Uruguayan already works in the Urubu nest field, but separated from the rest of the cast. Physical preparation before returning to activities with the companions will be critical to define the return period of the player.
For now, Viña is still recovering. Flamengo’s next commitment will be this Thursday (01), when they visit Botafogo-PB, for the third phase of the Brazilian Cup.
