The Board of Directors of the House of Representatives called the House Ethics Council to request the suspension of the mandate of Deputy Gilvan of the Federal (PL-ES) for six months. The document was filed on Wednesday (30).
The representation points out that the table was triggered by the parliamentary corregedoria. The agency reported actions “incompatible with parliamentary decorum” during a meeting of the Public Security Commission on Tuesday (29).
The document points out that, at the time, Gilvan referred to the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR), who is also a licensed deputy, with “offensive and defamatory” words.
During the session, the deputy associated the minister with the nickname “Lover”, which was reportedly attributed to her on a list of alleged illegal transfers of the company Odebrecht to politicians. Gilvan also said that the person nicknamed “lover” should “be a damn prostitute.”
After the lines, Gilvan starred in a discussion with Deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), husband of Gleisi.

According to the representation, Gilvan’s lines exceeded the right of freedom of expression and characterized abuse of parliamentary prerogatives. The document was referred to the Ethics Council and awaits the designation of a rapporteur.
The representation is signed by the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and the other members of the Board of Directors: Elmar Nascimento (União-BA), Carlos Veras (PT-PE), Lula da Fonte (PP-PE) and Delegate Katarina (PSD-SE). The vice-mayor, who is from the same party as Gilvan as federal, did not signed the document.
