President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday, in a radio and television speech on the occasion of Labor Day, that his government will intensify discussions about the current work regime, the so-called 6 × 1 journey, in a nod to the union sector.

Depending on the unfolding of opposition and government articulation in the National Congress, the case of the INSS may even become the object of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI).
Unlike previous years, the president will not participate in acts that mark the historical date for the PT and unionism.
If he were going to participate, Lula would have to choose between two acts planned for Thursday: one in São Bernardo do Campo, organized by CUT-who chose to decentralize the celebrations and trigger his state branches, and another in São Paulo, promoted by other union centrals, which should even have car draws to the public.

The risk of exposing himself, as last year, events with low popular mobilization. In 2024, an organized act in São Paulo had less than 2,000 people, leading Lula to pull the ear of the Presidential Secretary-General, Márcio Macêdo, in public, stating that the act had been “poorly summoned”.
