Former US Vice President and Failed Presidential Candidate Democrats Kamala Harris on Wednesday in San Francisco, in her first major speech from election defeat, called on Americans to fight against attacks on President Donald Trump’s administration. She also warned against the constitutional crisis if the courts and congress could not stop Trump – or if the president is ignoring them. TASR reports this based on DPA and AFP reports.

According to Harris, Trump is quickly implementing a program that has been working on decades – “a narrow -minded, selfish vision of America, punishing those who tell the truth that prefers loyalists, abusing power and letting everyone in himself”.

Dismantling government services

Harris also said this program is behind the “apparent chaos” of the first months of Trump’s second term. There is a dismantling of public education, dismantling the government and the privatization of its services, “all this in providing tax reliefs the richest”.

“This is a crisis that will ultimately affect everyone,” Harris said. It will cause rules that protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of Americans will no longer have weight. She accused Trump of relying on the policy of fear and the idea that fear is contagious. “What you have escaped is that fear is not the only thing that is contagious. Courage is also contagious,” she said.

Possible candidacy in California

In connection with the duties imposed by Trump’s government, she emphasized that Americans are united against “the greatest economic crisis caused by man in the history of modern presidential”.

Harris initially withdrew from public life after her defeat in the November presidential elections. On Wednesday in San Francisco, she spoke at an event for an organization to support women who want to run for political functions in the Democratic Party.

According to some media, a 60-year-old politician is currently considering the candidacy for the post of governors of his home state of California in the elections, which will be held in 2026. After unsuccessful attempts in 2020 and 2024 allegedly does not exclude another presidential candidacy in 2028.
