The Civil Police are mobilizing 1,500 agents to attend the public at Copacabana beach during the Lady Gagno concert on Saturday (3). The reinforcement of the police stations begins from this Thursday (1st). Teams will monitor social networks and prompt response professionals will be available to tourists.
In the surroundings of the show, there will be units with bilingual agents, prepared to receive tourists, both Brazilian and outside the country. The site will also be supported by the Special Resources Coordination Antibuma Squadron (Core), which will be triggered if explosive artifacts are suspected.
For the Secretary of State for Civil Police, Deputy Felipe Curi, the idea is to repeat the same security pattern as Madonna’s show, which took place in May last year at Copacabana beach. “We follow the rigid planning with the same success patterns that the Civil Police performed both at Madonna’s show and high flow events such as New Year’s Eve, Carnival and Rock in Rio,” he says.
The reinforcement in the staff will take place at the South Zone, Barra da Tijuca police stations, the Special Tourist Support Police Station (Deat), the Rio de Janeiro International Airport Police Station (Dairj), the Child and Adolescent Protection Police Station (DPCA) and the Racial Crimes and Crimes of Intolerance (DECRADI).
The operational period will start on Saturday at 15h, and will be extended until 5am on Sunday (4). To reinforce the area of the show, in addition to the centers of flagrant 12th DP (Copacabana) and 14th DP (Leblon), during this period, the 13th DP (Ipanema) will also act as Central. In the unit, the Special Court of the Supporter and the Great Events will operate.
According to Governor Claudio Castro, special planning repeats what has been working. “Police forces have already acquired a great expertise at major events, bringing security for those who will watch these mega shows on the beach, and this time it will be no different,” he says.
