One Fan of the singer Lady Gaga He paused the construction of his own residence and traveled more than 2,000 km to watch the artist’s show that will be held this Saturday (3), at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro.
Saymon Souza, 26, driven by the passion for the singer, who performs for the second time in Brazil, chose to postpone the work of the house – one of the biggest dreams of her life – to live a unique experience: see live for the first time.
Paraense came out of the city of Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará, towards Santos (SP), where he should meet with friends and follow by bus to Rio de Janeiro.
“It’s a dream and a unique moment. It’s not every day she comes to Brazil, and I couldn’t let this chance pass,” Saymon said exclusively to CNN.
The decision to pause the construction to go to the show was recorded in a video and shared on social networks. Saymon showed the followers the still unfinished place and detailed that he chose to go to the show and then finish the work.
“I helped my wall up with my stepfather myself. I’m not a bricklayer, but I put my hands dirty – literally,” he said.
“Life is made of moments.” For the fan, postponing a dream is not to abandon him. “The house is one of my biggest dreams, because you will have your dignity to have a place to live there, but life is also made of moments, and this is unique,” he said.
The relationship of the young man with Lady Gaga goes beyond music, he says that still In childhood it was a very important figure for your acceptance as gay.
“Lady Gaga is a very important figure for everyone in the community LGBTQIAP+. It represents freedom, acceptance and art of truth. Even those who are not a fan feel her impact on pop culture, ”he said.
The plan to live this experience began months before. Saymon and some friends reserved an apartment still in the rumor phase to ensure lower prices.
“It was lucky, because after the show was confirmed, everything faced. I will be on the side of my sister, my husband and a friend. It will be very cool,” he described.
Between sweat and dream
The pause in the work was carefully thought out. The money reserved for building materials has been redirected to the trip, which is being made economically. “I’m not with a lot of money. But we planned. And when I come back, I’ll run after, take more projects and resume the work.”
As an autonomous and individual microentrepreneur (MEI), Saymon works with varied audiovisual projects. Despite the uncertain routine, he bets on optimism.
“Nothing has been easy so far. And nothing will be easy going forward. But I believe it will work,” he said. This weekend, the sweat of the walls gives way to tears of emotion. The sand replaces the concrete, and the noise of the drill gives way to the shouts of a crowd.
For Saymon, it’s not an exchange – it’s a break. A moment to celebrate not only an artist, but everything she represents. “It’s about it. About allowing yourself to live, even when it seems a little crazy,” he said.
