President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) appointed on Wednesday (30) the Federal Attorney of the General Advocacy of the Union (AGU) Gilberto Waller Júnior for the position of president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
According to Planalto, the appointment will be published in extra edition of the Official Gazette today.
Waller is a bachelor’s degree in legal and social sciences with a postgraduate degree in combating corruption and money laundering. In 1998, he joined the public power as an attorney at the INSS. Between 2001 and 2004, he was the general corregedor of the agency. From 2007 to 2008, he was Deputy Attorney General.
Later, between 2016 and 2019, he occupied the role of Ombudsman General of the Union Comptroller General (CGU) and moved to the Union General from 2019.
The former president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Alessandro Stefanutto, left office last Wednesday (23) after operation of CGU and the Federal Police (PF).
