Mayor Luís Eduardo Falcão, from Patos de Minas (MG), announced on Wednesday (30) his discharge from.

The city of 159,000 inhabitants was the second most populous commanded by the state caption, behind only Divinópolis, where the mayor is Gleidson Azevedo (new), brother of Senator Cleitinho (Republicans).

Officially, Falcão’s discharge is justified by his election as president of AMM (Minas Gerais Association of Municipalities), in early April, which would be necessary to present independent and suprapartisan management.

Behind the scenes, however, a dissatisfaction with the posture of the governor (new) in the dispute is pointed out.

From the same party as Falcão, Zema did not ask his co -religionist vote in the dispute with Marcos Vinícius, who sought reelection in AMM and was publicly praised by the governor before the election.

Falcão’s allies also point out the influence on the dispute of Marcelo Aro, secretary of government of Minas and responsible for the political articulation of the Tiradentes Palace.

Aro indicated for the first vice presidency of Marcos Vinícius’s plate, a former chief of staff of his father, Zé Guilherme, in the Legislative Assembly.

Falcão was from Somos before he joined the new, already during his first term as mayor of Patos. For now, he must remain without a party.
