United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the head of the Government Efficiency Department (Doge), Elon Musk, “may be as much as he wants in government” and that he “has helped the country tremendously, but wants to return home to his cars” in Tesla.
The statements were made during a cabinet meeting with the Republican government team.
Trump also stated that Musk has been doing “sacrifices” throughout the country and once again thanked Tesla CEO. “This guy has been treated very meanly lately. But know that Americans are on your side,” he said.
Musk, in turn, thanked Trump, but has not commented on whether he will continue ahead of Doge.
