US President Donald Trump told billionaire Elon Musk on Wednesday that he can continue working for the White House as long as he would want. Musk, whose Trump has commissioned the management of the State Administration Efficiency Office (Doga), announced some time ago that he would greatly limit the time devoted to Trump’s government and will focus more on the management of his companies. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.
Trump put Muska in the head of Doga in January after he became president. The declared objective of this Office is to limit uneconomical and unauthorized federal expenditures and eliminate excess regulations. Trump set up the Doga with a powerful regulation signed on the first day in office – 20 January 2025.
“The vast majority of people in this country really appreciate and appreciate you,” He told Trump to Musk during the Government meeting in the White House, which could be his last before he renounces Doga, AFP wrote. “And you know you can stay as long as you want,” said the US President, although He acknowledged that Musk might want to “return home to his cars”.
In accordance with the statutory deadline for special civil servants who can work for a maximum of 130 days a year for the government, Musk’s work in the Doga leadership is to end on 30 May. The termination of the office is scheduled for 4 July, but Musk in the latest interview for the media, including Axios, admitted that Doga could continue his work until the end of 2028where the decision depends on Trump himself.
Musk is the CEO of Tesla, the founder of SpaceX and the owner of the X network. He is also considered the richest person in the world. Tesla, the main source of his wealth, has suffered considerable damage in recent weeks, including a fall in turnover and profit due to Musk’s political activity, writes AFP. Protests have also recently been held before the company in the US and Europe.
“You have sacrificed a lot of it. They treated you very unfairly,” said Trump to the address of Musk’s opponents. “They liked to burn my cars, which is not the best,” reacted Musk.
Tesla Robyn Denholm, head of the Board of Directors Meanwhile, on Thursday, she denied a report that the company’s Board of Directors turned to recruitment companies in an effort to replace Musk as the General Director. The Wall Street Journal came on Wednesday.
“It is absolutely false (and the media have been informed about this before the report was published). Tesla CEO is Elon Musk and the Board of Directors is highly convinced of his ability to continue implementing an exciting growth plan for us,” Written by Denholm on X.
