Germany AFD’s far-right party leaders announced legal measures to be taken against secret services, after the institution was announced that AFD had been designated as “extremist organization.” The Federal Minister of Internal Affairs explained the reasons for Friday’s decision. Nancy Faeser said AFD has adopted a xenophobic and antimuceulan stance, when considering the Germans from immigration as second -class citizens. Nancy Faesser also said that some of the positions of the Alternative Party to Germany are unconstitutional and contribute to the degradation of German democracy. The measure is more than a statement of intent, as it allows party members, in particular leaders, to be investigated more quickly, while opening the door to a possible party illegalization. The announcement was made days before Friedrich Merz took over the federal chancellor post.
