China claims to be “evaluating” US proposals to start trade negotiations, in a tone change that can make way for negotiations.

A china ministry spokesman said in a statement on Friday that “the US recently sent several messages to China through relevant parts, hoping to start negotiations with China. China is currently evaluating this.”

The comments show a slowdown in Beijing’s position, which has been firmly challenging amid the increased tensions with the US due to the tariff war of.

Trump has been repeatedly claimed since last week that his government was in negotiations with Chinese authorities to close a trade agreement – but was received with on all occasions.

On Friday, Beijing reiterated that any negotiation would require the fulfillment of some previews.
