An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 reached the province of La Rioja, in the northwest of Argentina, this Thursday (1st.MAI.2025). The seismic shock was recorded by Germany’s (Geosciences Research Center).
According to INSPR (National Institute for Seismic Prevention), the tremor took place at 1:04 pm (local time), at a depth of 10 km. Authorities reported that there were no injuries or fatalities, but material damages were recorded such as wall cracks and falling parts of construction.
This was the 3rd and most intense tremor recorded on the day. The 1st occurred at 12:47 pm, with magnitude 2.6, and the 2nd at 12:54, with magnitude 2.8.
