US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on Iran to stop the development of ballistic missiles and the enrichment of uranium related to nuclear weapons.

Iran must refrain from the development of long -range ballistic missiles and uranium enrichment, which is a key component in the production of a nuclear weapon. On Thursday, US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said it in an interview with Fox News. According to him, Tehran should enable US inspector to visit its facilities, TASR reports on the basis of Reuters report.

“They must refrain from sponsoring terrorists, they must abandon the help of Husi (Yemen’s insurgents TASR), they must abandon the building of long -range missiles that have no purpose than in connection with nuclear weapons, and refrain from enriching uranium,” Rubio said.

Enrichment of uranium

“If you have the opportunity to enrich uranium at 3.67 percent, it only takes a few weeks to get to 20 percent, then 60 and then at 80 and 90 percent you need to produce a nuclear weapon,” the US minister said.

Iran has repeatedly declared that he would not give up its rocket program or enrichment of uranium.

Postponement of negotiations in Rome

The United States was to have the fourth round of interviews on the Iranian nuclear program with Tehran on Saturday in Rome. However, the negotiations between the Special US envoy Steve Witkoff and the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakčí were postponed “for logistics reasons” on Thursday.

Shortly after this announcement, US President Donald Trump said he intended to impose sanctions on anyone who buys oil from Iran. According to him, these individuals or countries will no longer be able to trade the US.
