The National Secretary of Public Security, expressed concern with the (PA) archipelago in a meeting with the Minister (Justice and Public Security) and the Senator (Republicans-DF).
The meeting was qualified by the senator as very friendly. Damares stated that Lewandowski welcomed her very well and was “extremely respectful.”
At the hearing, the former Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights in the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government asked to involve the Federal Police in investigations into the disappearance of two children: the 6-year-old boy, who was last seen in January 2024 in Barra da Tijuca beach, in the west of the state capital; and Elisa Ladeira Rodrigues, 2, who disappeared in September 2023, in Anajás, Marajó.
The ministry then informed that this request would have to be made via PGR (Attorney General’s Office), but asked the offices requesting federalization to be resubmitted.
Damares also invited the Ministry members to participate in the due diligence to be held in Marajó to investigate the exploitation of children and the trafficking of persons on site, object of the concern expressed by the secretary.
