Poland considers American presence to be key to its safety, said the head of the presidential office Wojciech Kolarski.
Maintaining close relations with the United States is in the interest of Poland, and the US presence in the country is essential for security. Wojciech Kolarski, head of the Presidential Office for International Policy, declared it in Friday’s interview for Polish Radio. According to him, President Donald Trump could visit Poland in June, informs Warsaw Newsletter TASR.
According to Kolar Polish transatlantic policy during Presidential Andrzej Duda, it ensured stable relations with the US, regardless of whether the President of the Democratic or Republican Party worked in the White House. As an example of continuing cooperation, he mentioned the recent participation of American Energy Minister Christopher Wright at the Trinity Summit in Poland and described it as a clear signal of American willingness closely to cooperate.
Possible visit to Trump
The Minister reiterated that a visit to US President Donald Trump in Poland could take place before the NATO Summit in Hague in June. It is scheduled for 24 and 25 June and, according to him, is of strategic importance for Polish-American relations.
In response to Friday’s visit to the presidential candidate supported by PiS Karol Nawrocký in the White House, he said that meetings with the US President are helping to win the elections. “It is a great success for the candidate that he has gained such support during the campaign while showing that he is a politician who can ensure that the strategic relations that Poland has with the US continues,” he said.
