Club had a revenue of R $ 135.9 mi in 2024, almost double 2023, highlighting the sale of Pedro Lima for about R $ 59 million

It ended 2024 with a deficit of R $ 16.5 million, despite reaching a net operating revenue of R $ 135.9 million. The financial balance was on Wednesday (30.br.2025), in partnership with the consultancy Alvarez & Marsal.

Pernambuco club revenue almost doubled compared to 2023, when it registered R $ 72.9 million. The main factor for this increase was the transfer of right-back Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton, from England, for 10 million euros (about $ 59 million in the quotation of the time).

Negotiation with the English club is considered the largest in northeastern football history. The first installment, equivalent to 60% of the total amount, was paid in December 2024, with the rest scheduled to be paid by the end of 2025.

In detailing the balance, the “Assignment of Contractual Rights”, a category that includes the sale of Pedro Lima, totaled R $ 60.2 million, representing almost half of all Sport revenues in 2024. In 2023, the club had obtained only R $ 2.7 million in the same category.

The other sources of revenue from the club in 2024 were distributed between television rights and awards (R $ 25.1 million), commercial actions, marketing and advertising (R $ 19.3 million), contribution of associates (R $ 15.1 million) and revenue in games (R $ 14.4 million). The latter was the only one that presented a lower value than the one registered in the previous year.

The deficit happened because expenses grew proportionally more than revenues. Of the amount paid by Wolverhampton, 30% stayed with the athlete himself and his agent. This generated a record of R $ 22.1 million as “financial transfer of economic rights”, item that was not in the 2023 balance.

Spending on the football department also increased from R $ 49.1 million by 2023 to R $ 63.2 million in 2024. The “general expenses” almost doubled in the same period, jumping from R $ 9.4 million to R $ 17.3 million.
