María del Carmen Morales was shot last week in Jalisco, Mexico, along with her 26-year-old son Jaime Daniel Ramírez Morales. Together at that time they searched for the second son of Morales, who has been missing since last year.
Search for missing
Forty -three -year -old Morales belonged to a group called Guerreros Buscadores, which searches for missing Mexicans. The group recently discovered bones, shoes and clothing of various victims in a suspicious drug card training camp in Jalisco. The finding shocked the country, writes AFP.
The murders occurred on April 23, when motorcycle attackers started fire to their mother and son near their home, the investigators said Morales tried to protect their son during the attack.
Detention of suspects
The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office identified the detainees of the suspects as Juan Manuel N. (27) and José Luis N. (24) and said she faced suspicions of connection with more than ten other murders.
The discovery that made a group in the training camp of the cardinal in Jalisco has drawn attention to the forced recruitment and other tactics of criminal gangs in Mexico, where more than 120,000 people are missing, writes AFP.
The number of disappearances increased sharply after the government declared war to groups of drug trading in 2006. Since then, about 480,000 people have lost their lives in a wave of violence.
