ΗΠΑ – Χούθι: Τι φέρνει η κλιμάκωση

Next to the blood -stained gauze, the low -intensity “fire” in, where British and US fighters regularly carry out regular joint operations against the rebels. The danger, however, remains “a greater ignition not only in Yemen but also in the whole area”, in the event of the escalation of Yemen’s “Front”, the former Yemeni Security Chief of the Presidential Security of Yemen (under the presidency of Ali Avdoulah) emphasizes in “Vima”.

Where could the scaling of the Houthi-US confrontation?

The ongoing escalation of the confrontation between Houthi and the US first brings more suffering to the people of Yemen. At the same time, it opens the door increased reactions under the banner of resistance to Americans. The risk is clearly a greater ignition, not only in Yemen but throughout the area. Unfortunately, we are watching a conflict with representatives led by their regional forces and their destructive agendas. Consequently, Yemen’s scene has been occupied by armed groups and militias that do not believe in Yemen’s nation and are only moved by their own interests, even at the cost of destroying the country.

The US has left the possibility of land business open.

I believe this scenario cannot be excluded. However, it would be reckless and at great cost for Yemen and its people. The country today needs the end of war, and no more war.

Houthi warn the Americans and the British that “they will not achieve any goal”.

“In fact, there is not much left in Yemen to be destroyed. We no longer need other bigotomies, arrogance or power demonstrations in the country. What we need, as I said, is the end of the war. When we speak in terms of military power, however, we must admit that history has proven that foreign powers have never been able to subdue the Yemenites. Yemen has been a cemetery for the invaders over time. Every empire that tried to subdue it was eventually buried within the borders. Yemen is a disobedient land. I clearly talk about the people and its history, not a particular faction. Any foreign power attempts to understand Yemen will inevitably collide with a deeply rooted popular will, even if this will is expressed through currents that do not represent a single Yemeni state.

What could stop hostilities?

Houthis have stated that Israeli aggression against Gaza is the cause.
Regardless of the political motives behind Houthi’s actions, the only way to stop escalating is to end the Gaza war, to stop the slaughter against Palestinian civilians and to achieve justice for Palestine. Only this can stabilize the whole area – and Yemen is no exception.

You say that there is not much left in Yemen to be destroyed. What exactly does the country are in?

Yemen has been in constant deterioration since 2011, due to the so -called Arab Spring uprisings, foreign interventions and internal divisions that followed. US attacks undoubtedly affect the people of Yemen, especially when they target infrastructure.

What are the forces that control Yemen today? Can they repel the Houthi?

Yemen today is fragmented between various de facto principles. There is no single legal leadership. There is also no clear or inclusive national plan to join forces against Houtha. The true solution lies in a political settlement that will restore Yemen’s unity and rejuvenate its national institutions.

Do Houthis act exclusively as Tehran’s proxies?

Iran certainly has its ambitions and its support and control of various groups and militias – including Houthi – is no secret. Houthi are not the only proxies of Tehran. There are others in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. However, Houthi are perhaps the most independent among them and act with greater autonomy, because of their complete control over the state mechanism and resources of Yemen.

Where do they get their weapons?

Houtha seized the Yemeni military assets and thus gained access to a huge arsenal. In addition, weapons are smuggled by sea. Some are even made on the spot.

How will it affect Yemen any US or Israel attack on Iran?

Any attack on Iran will undoubtedly have significant implications, whether one agrees or disagrees with the Iranian regime and his regional behavior. It would have disastrous consequences throughout the area and Yemen would inevitably have part of them. Houthi, like other groups associated with Iran, would not remain idle.
