What was the origin of the tornado in Beja?

The vice president of the Portuguese Association of Civil Protection Technicians explains what happened this morning in Beja and caused damage to various infrastructure, roofs and telecommunications network.

The morning of this Friday was startled. In Beja, a tornado ripped trees, roofs of houses flew but there is no record of victims or injured. The damage is still being evaluated but there is already explanation for the meteorological phenomenon that has passed.

Speaking to SIC Notícias, Jorge Silva, vice president of the Portuguese Association of Civil Protection Technicians, explained that the hot Thursday that was registered in the region and the sudden rain this dawn are at the origin of the tornado.

“In the morning around 6:40 am, there was a very intense rain and yesterday we had a hot day.
