Australians decide on the new parliament, surveys favor the center of Prime Minister Albanese’s Party before the conservative coalition of Dutton.

Parliamentary elections are held in Australia on Saturday. Surveys slightly favor the ruling Central of Australian Labor Party (ALP) Prime Minister Anthony Albanese before the Liberal-Frontal Coalition (LNP) of its conservative challenge Petr Dutton. According to DPA and Reuters, TASR reports this.

The key pre -election theme was life costs and both leaders promise to alleviate financial pressure on voters. Albanese wants to strengthen health care and reduce the cost of childcare, electricity and housing, while dutton promotes lower taxes and administrative burden, reduction of migration, crime intervention and lifting of long -term core prohibition of nuclear energy.

Foreign diplomacy in debates

Although both main parties in the campaign focused on these questions, surveys have shown that the main topic for voters has rapidly became worldwide uncertainty related to the fluctuating diplomacy of US President Donald Trump and his duties. Australia is a nearby US security ally with whom he generally has a business deficit, but it has not saved it from a duties of ten percent.

Voters decide all 150 seats in the lower chamber of parliament by 40 out of 76 chairs in the Senate. For more than 18 million people in the country, voting in elections is mandatory every three years. A record eight million of them used the opportunity to cast votes in advance.

The possibility of a minority government

The room votes will be closed at 18:00. Local Time (10:00 pm CEST). Several surveys suggest that the ALP may have to form a minority government and the results of smaller parties and independent candidates could be decisive.
