McDonald’s has announced McBifana’s return to its menus in Portugal, a news that has enthusiastic the lovers of this classic adapted to the version fast food. After a long period of absence, the chain officially confirmed its availability from last Thursday, May 1.

Confirmation came through the brand’s social networks, where you could read: “It was already circulating there … But now we can confirm: McBifana is really back! This iconic flavor is back home.” The publication quickly generated thousands of reactions and comments from customers waiting for this moment for several years.
Inspired by the traditional Portuguese Sandes, McBiFana maintains the composition that made it popular with consumers: water bread, pork and a sauce with notes of pepper, garlic and bay. This combination aims to approach the typical flavor that is found in the bifanas served at fairs and tabsas across the country.
Customizable option with mustard
The chain also allows customers to customize the sandwich and can add mustard, which is provided in individual sachet. This option is a reference to the way many Portuguese prefer to consume traditional bifana.
The last time McBifana was available in restaurants was in 2021 in the middle of pandemic. Since then, requests for their return have intensified, with several customers to express this desire on the brand’s digital platforms.
