A man was arrested after trying to escape with 43 kg of cocaine in his luggage. Three other suspects were arrested with sufficient cocaine to 68,000 individual doses.
A He announced today the arrest of four people on suspicion of cocaine trafficking at Lisbon International Airport, having all been in pre -trial detention.
Through the National Unit to Combat Trafficking, PJ detained at Lisbon International Airport, a 30 -year -old man suspected of drug crime after fleeing the airport facilities, a statement says.
“In the luggage, consisting of two suitcases, the detainee carried 43 kilograms of high -end cocaine from a Latin American country,” says PJ.
The suspect was selected by elements of the Tax and Customs Authority for the supervision of the respective luggage, but was escaped.
Elements of the PJ in the airport was at the slope of the suspect, which was eventually located and detained minutes later at the Metropolitan Station “inside the final part of the Red Line tunnel, hidden in the zone for trading line and carriage parking.”
In the context of two distinct interventions, two men and one woman, aged 22 to 24, were also detained at Lisbon airport, in possession of a “high amount of cocaine, sufficient for the composition of at least 68,000 individual doses,” said PJ.
“Two of the suspects traveled to Lisbon from one country of South America and the other from a Central American country, all with the dissimilated narcotic product with the body,” the statement adds.
All detainees were present to the first judicial interrogation, and the measure of coercion of pre-trial detention was applied.
