Between mountains of the Caxemira region administered by India, teachers guide school children in the village of Churanda in the morning prayers, asking that the sound of swallowing and birds singing is not replaced by the roar of the artillery.

Although children attend classes normally, “the fear among parents is large,” according to Professor Farooq Ahmad, after one, that people on both sides of the line that divides the region fear that they can lead to a conflict.

India and Pakistan have crashed and numerous border clashes over the decades. Thus, residents got used to observing and waiting with fear when tensions between neighbors increase.

Militant alleged – in updated numbers – in the attack last week to a place of mountainous beauties. India blamed Pakistan by involvement, what Islamabad denies. Pakistan, on the other hand, claimed to have “reliable information” that India intends soon.

From Churanda, Pakistani and Indian soldiers can be seen at their advanced posts. Elders say at least 18 people have been killed in the village in shootings between the two sides in recent decades.

“There are six bunkers in the village for a population of 1,500 inhabitants. Both sides are threatening. If there is a border climbing, where will we go? The fear is there, because this village is the hardest,” said Abdul Aziz, a 25 -year -old resident.

Two -month supplies

On the Pakistani side of the line that divides control of the region, residents of the village of Chakothi prepared fortified shelters that dot the slopes near their homes.

“People built bunkers in their homes. They go to bunkers whenever there is some shooting,” said Faizan Anayat, 22, who was visiting his family on a trip back to Caxemira, coming from the city of Rawalpindi, where he works as an air conditioning technician.

One of his neighbors, Mohammad Nazir, 73, paused the Bunker preparation to go to the mosque for Friday’s prayers, while his family’s children played cricket near the entrance.

“We are not afraid of anything,” said Nazir. “Each of our children is prepared.”

In the capital of Pakistan’s Caxemira, Muzaffabad, authorities say they have prepared an emergency fund of 1 billion Pakistani rules ($ 3.5 million) and sent enough food, water and health supplies to two months to the villages along the control line.

Authorities closed all religious seminars in the region for ten days, authorities said on Thursday, citing fears that they would be targets of Indian attacks.

They also moved equipment to areas near the control line, to repair any damage to the roads, and instructed the rescue and civil defense authorities to be on the maximum warning, said the Caxemira Prime Minister’s office managed by Pakistan.

Pakistani red cisente branch chief Gulzar Fatima said that as soon as the aid group saw the tensions increase, began to mobilize supplies and staff, including first aid providers.

In the case of an Indian military action, they expect a large -scale migration from people from the control line and are preparing tents, hygiene kits and kitchen equipment for at least 500 families, she said.
