The cardinals who participate in the congregations prior to the conclave that will choose a successor of Pope Francis again seen this Saturday morning to expose their views and with the still “open” debate.

“We are not yet ready, we must discover who has been chosen by the Lord. We need a little more time to pray together,” the French cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco, one of the voters in the conclave confessed before the media.

Also Argel’s archbishop was optimistic with the debates: “I am convinced that we will be prepared at the right time. We will give the Church the Pope that the Lord has chosen,” he predicted.

To the question of whether the future Pontiff will follow Francisco’s line, Monsignor Vesco replied “I wait for him.”

Along the same lines, the Chilean cardinal Fernando Natalio Chomali Garib stressed: “We have 133 names and everything is open”, in statements to the press that awaited him upon his arrival.

In the meetings, as Vesco declared, the legacy of the late Pope Francis has an important place and it is discussed whether his most opening line must be followed.

“We are still looking for the new Pope. The desire is that he can continue in continuity with Francisco,” said Argentine Cardinal Vicente Bokalic Iglic.
