The former president became a defendant in late March at the STF for attempted coup and other crimes, for which he has always denied any kind of involvement.
In speech, Bolsonaro said he would have made his defense in the case without all the elements, adding that images that were preserved for the sake of intimate forum could help him. He also defended the amnesty again, saying that there were “innocent people with penalties up to 17 years in jail.”
“Mr. Alexandre de Moraes has just said that now he gave us everything. Hey, we did the defense without everything,” he said, again saying that he could not be related to acts that occurred in Brazil while at the time in the United States.
“There is no point in saying that amnesty is forgiveness and what happened is unforgivable. He didn’t have a drop of blood. He didn’t have a firearm.”

Last Thursday, Bolsonaro had already made a call for parliamentarians and supporters to appear to the act in defense of the amnesty of the convicts of the acts of January 8, 2023.
Allies of the former president seek to articulate in Congress the approval of a proposal to guarantee a wide amnesty and would also benefit Bolsonaro himself.
