Sada Cruzeiro won, this Sunday (4), another title of the men’s volleyball Superleague. The team beat Renata/Campinas Volleyball by 3 sets to 1, at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, in the final of the tournament. The partials were 18/25, 25/23, 25/23 and 25/21.
It was the ninth conquest of the history of Cruzeiro. The team returned to the top after not lifting the trophy last season.
The match had two initial sets marked by domain of one of the teams. Campinas ran over on the first set, Cruzeiro followed the script in the second partial, but saw the opposing team grow in the final stretch.
Coach Filipe Ferraz has made two important changes in the celestial team throughout the game. The Vaccari pointer and the opposite Oppenkoski were called to replace Douglas Souza and Wallace, respectively.
The changes have had an effect. With the Olympic champions from outside, Cruzeiro grew up in the game and built the advantage in a balanced game.
The conquest of the Superleague was the Quinta do Sada Cruzeiro this season. The team was also champion of the Club World Cup, South American, Supercopa Brasil and the Mineiro Championship.
