Finance Minister Fernando Haddad begins this Sunday (04), a trip through Los Angeles and San Francisco that includes meetings with the three largest technology companies in the world, Nvidia, Google and Amazon.
At meetings with these companies, an area that has gained relevance worldwide with the advancement of artificial intelligence, with several countries vying for these billionaire projects. Last week, Chinese Tiktok announced the construction of a data center in Finland with investments of $ 1.14 billion.
The minister arrived in Los Angeles on Saturday, but his first official appointment is on Sunday night, where he participates in a dinner offered by the Milken Institute, a “Think Tank” based in Santa Monica focused on discussing the world economy and its annual conference this week.
The meeting will be attended by United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who opens the conference on Monday (05) and former first lady Jill Biden, as well as the director-managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva.
Haddad talks about Brazil at the Milken Institute event, in a panel on Monday morning to discuss the Brazilian economy. Along with him, will be the president of the bank J Safra, José Olympio Pereira.
Then the minister participates in a conversation with the institute’s vice president, Laura Deal Lacey, to make an overview of the Brazilian economy and the international agenda of Brazil. The event will have a panel to discuss COP30, which will be in Belém.
With Techs, Haddad has a bilateral meeting with Google’s financial director Ruth Poat in Los Angeles. On the afternoon of the same day, he will find Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in San Francisco, where he also visits the company’s facilities, which specializes in artificial intelligence microprocessors and valued at $ 2.8 trillion in the stock market.
On Tuesday (06), the last day of the visit to the United States, before leaving for Mexico, has a meeting with the command of Amazon.
