An Yemen -released missile towards Israel on Sunday (4) fell near Ben Gurion airport, the country’s main international airport, where images shared on social networks showed a visible smoke column from a passenger terminal.
Passengers at the terminal were instructed to go to safe spaces, while the boarding terminal seemed almost empty while the air strike sirens sounded.
The Israeli army said a projectile launched from Yemen fell near the airport.
The Israeli ambulance service said there were no reports of serious injuries.
Airport authorities reported that the projectile fell on a road near Terminal 3 parking lot. A police video showed an open hole in an orchard near the airport.
Yemen’s Houshthi rebels have launched missiles against Israel, saying they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
