The regional commemorative celebration took place on the eve of the 106th anniversary of Štefánik’s death. It was completed by the light of the windscreen and the hymn song who burns the truth. The program began on Saturday afternoon by the memorial services of God in the Evangelical Church in Košariska, A memorial act in front of the birthplace of Štefánik and the Fakl’s parade to Bradlo. Part of the memorial event of the MR Štefánik Mound also included poems, songs, speeches and spiritual words.
President of the Trenčín self -governing region Jaroslav Baška added to Štefánik’s functions of scientist, politics and general and the designation motivator. “He has done a lot of deeds and actions in a short life, and they also evaluate it,” stressed. He considers him a person who defeated the word impossibility. “He himself also said that he lived a beautiful life, and even though the life was short, he lived eternity in seconds,” added Baška.
Mayor of Brezová pod Bradlom Jaroslav Ciran perceives Štefánikov’s legacy today perhaps even more up -to -date than in the past. “Our duty is to commemorate him, pay tribute and tribute to his life and work,” noted. He highlighted the values of freedom and democracy. The mayor of the village Pripasné Peter Czere added that even in the village regularly commemorate the anniversary of the death of Štefánik at the memorial. “People are very close and his image hangs in virtually every household,” added.
Milan Rastislav Štefánik died on 4 May 1919 in a tragic air accident on landing near Bratislava. Together with the Italian pilots he is buried on the mound on the hill Bradlo, which is a national cultural monument.
