The Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Basin Basins Black and Nare (Cornare), an entity in charge of environmental management in the east of the department of Antioquia, indicated that the animals were found in critical conditions “with signs of abuse and torture.”
“The six primates were found in a state of sedation, hidden in bodily cavities of the detainees, which put their lives and well -being at risk,” said Cornare in a statement in which he added that the animals were transferred to the Center for Wildlife Attention and Assessment for recovery.
