The Slovakia Movement calls on the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico (Smer-SD) not to participate in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Moscow. According to him, the Prime Minister will directly hurt the Slovak economy and take responsibility for the victims in Ukraine. Representatives of the movement said this at a Sunday press conference.
“Which reasonable leader of the European Union will talk to Robert Fico about some ideas, suggestions when he sees that Does Vladimir Putin, a killer who also included our country on the list of enemies? This is a huge shame, ” The chairman of the Group Slovakia, for people, Michal Šipoš, pointed out. Party chairman for people and parliamentary deputy Veronika Remišová (Slovakia, for people, Ú) also called on Fico not to go to the Kremlin to legitimize Russian aggression.
The movement also responded to Fico’s ambition to agree with the representatives of other political parties to abolish Sunday discussion political programs. “Robert Fico should first realize that in every single television debate, Smer-SD representatives and the government coalition representatives have the largest space,” He said Šipoš. According to him, whenever the Prime Minister chooses a press or decides to go into political discussions, so journalists will come and the door to communicate is open.
Remišová, in turn, sees in the ambition of Fico to abolish Sunday discussions that the Prime Minister can no longer defend the papalism of the government coalition even before his voters. “Since most television is private, it is exclusively their decision. But at the same time it is also the responsibility of private television by law to ensure impartiality and balance,” she recalled.
MEPs also responded to Fico’s claims on “disrupted public finances”, which he allegedly took over. “In addition to the crisis, we have resolved a loan of € 12 billion for zero interest, and we left the Fico government in the treasury of 10 billion euros for the functioning of the state. This is the difference between my management with public finances and the management of Fica, ”added Igor Matovič, leader of the Movement Slovakia, adding that the current Smer-SD with coalition partners is indebting Slovakia at a pace of EUR 6.5 billion per year.
Matovic noted that Fico is already counting on early elections, but he has not yet told the coalition partner. “I personally evaluate that he wants to go to early elections, firstly because he is no longer enjoyed by the point of view that he has no respect in the world or Slovakia among the coalition partners, nor from the presidential palace.
