New Ambiental Front Working Chief says benefits are “effective” for ecological transition; takes office in the new position this Thursday

The new executive secretary of the (working group) of companies, Victor Bicca takes office defending tax incentives to benefit companies that contribute to the “Improvement” Environmental policies in the country and the dialogue between companies, Congress and the Government of the President (PT) for legislative updates.

Brazil has the electric matrix with the highest use of renewable sources among the main economies in the world, with 89% of the energy produced being green.

The proportion represents an advantage of 23 percentage points compared to the 2nd place on the list, Canada (66%). Even so, Bicca says there is still a space for Brazilian growth in bioeconomics and cites the potential of the national Amazon in the sector.

Bioeconomics is an area of ​​the economy focused on the production and sustainable marketing of food, pharmacists and others. For ecological diversity, the Amazon has the ability to provide a large-scale raw material for the apothecary sector-which interests large companies in the sector.

“There is still a lot of opportunity. Brazil is a barn in environmental innovation. When we think of bioeconomics and we see the potential of the Amazon, there is a lot of opportunity. There are plants in the Amazon region that can be raw material for the pharmaceutical industry.”he declared.

Who is Victor Bicca

Graduated in Law from UnB (University of Brasilia), Bicca has a specialization in government relations and developed his career in Caterpillar. For 24 years at Coca-Cola, he has been senior director of policies and government relations of the company.

He is also president of ABIR (Brazilian Association of Soft drinks and non -alcoholic beverages), a position that has held the position since 2021.

Over the course of 10 years, he led the Centre (Business Commitment for Recycling), actively participating in the discussion and approval of the National Solid Waste Policy and the Sectorial Agreement.
